Guides · Being found and remembered
How often should you send a newsletter?
Monthly is enough for a practice of one. What matters is that it arrives when people expect it. A note every month for a year does more than a weekly one that stops in March, because people learn that yours is worth opening.
Pick a day and keep it
The first Tuesday of the month, say. A fixed day means you write it in the week before, every time, instead of waiting for an idea.
Write a few ahead
Two notes written and waiting cover a busy month or a holiday. Write them in a quiet week.
If you miss one
Send the next one on its day, and don’t apologize for the gap. Nobody noticed as much as you think, and a note that opens with an apology wastes its first line.
When to send more
When there’s news, such as a course with dates, a group with seats, a price change. Once, with the date. It doesn’t replace the monthly note.
