Guides · Selling more than hours
How do office hours work as a paid product?
A slot held each month for one client, paid monthly and booked when it suits them. It’s a retainer for the client who needs you now and then, not every week. The consulting setup on WorkWith starts with a standing monthly slot: one hour a month for $300.
A founder you worked with last year has a decision to make every few weeks. Not enough for a retainer of two sessions a month. Too often for them to want to rebook from scratch each time. One held hour a month, paid whether they use it or not, is the shape that fits.
What makes it work
- One slot a month, refilled at each renewal.
- Booked when it suits them, inside the month.
- A rule about unused hours. Most don’t roll over, which keeps it a slot and not a debt.
- A short note after each hour, so the next one starts where this ended.
Who it suits
Past clients who want you on hand, and people who need advice in short bursts. It’s the easiest monthly offer to say yes to, because it costs less than a retainer and less than rebooking.
On WorkWith, a monthly offering can include a number of sessions that refills at each renewal, and the client books them from their own page.
