Guides · Selling more than hours
How do you sell a monthly file, like a report or a pack?
Make each month’s version worth renewing for on its own. A monthly file works when the subject changes every month (prices, a market, a season) and the reader would otherwise have to work it out themselves. Update it on the same day each month, and say what changed at the top.
- Step 1
Pick a subject that changes.
A market, a set of prices, a season’s plan. A file that’s the same every month gets canceled in the second.
- Step 2
Fix the day it updates.
The first Monday, say. A subscriber should know when to look.
- Step 3
Lead with what changed.
Three lines at the top, so somebody with five minutes gets the value.
- Step 4
Keep it to the length people read.
A few pages read every month beats a long report saved for later.
- Step 5
Price it below one session.
It’s a smaller, steadier thing than an hour with you, and the price should say so.
On WorkWith, a file that repeats each month follows the subscription: replace the file and every current subscriber opens the new one from their own page, and somebody who stops keeps nothing more.
