What happens to package sessions nobody used?

Whatever your agreement says. There are three choices: they expire at the end of the window, they’re refunded, or the window is extended. Most practices remind the client before the date and give them longer when they ask, because a client who loses three paid sessions to a deadline doesn’t come back.

  1. 1

    They expire

Clear, and enforceable if it was agreed. It also feels to the client like money taken away.

  2. 2

    They’re refunded

Fair, and it costs you the income for work you’d planned to do.

  3. 3

    The window is extended

The client keeps what they paid for, and you keep the client. Most practices start here.

Remind before the date

The coaching setup sells six sessions for $960, used within 4 months. A reminder two weeks before the end gets most of the sessions booked, and none of it needs a policy argument.

On WorkWith, the client’s page says how many sessions are left and the date to use them by. Two weeks before the end, Today shows the client with Remind them or Give them longer, one tap each.
