For language teachers
Your students live in other time zones and learn on video. Show them your hours in theirs, sell lessons in blocks, and keep the students a platform would otherwise keep for you.
What students ask before the first lesson
How much should an online language teacher charge?
More than a platform pays you, since you’re finding the student and keeping all of it. Work out the hourly figure you need to take home, then check what students already pay for your language.
Should language lessons be sold in packages?
Yes, and ten lessons is a common block. Paying ahead keeps a student coming in the weeks they’d otherwise skip.
Can I teach a small conversation group?
Yes. Give the lesson more than one seat, and the first booking sets the time for the rest.
Can I take my students with me when I leave a platform?
Read its terms first, because many forbid it for students you met there. For students who found you on their own, send your link.
Your page on the first day
This is the something else setup, and it’s what your page starts with. Change any of it where it appears.
- Clients can book from tomorrow onward.
- Moving or canceling is free up to 24 hours before.
- There are 15 minutes clear after every session.
Your working agreement opens with this: Reschedule or cancel up to 24 hours before at no charge; inside 24 hours the session is charged in full.
What gets in the way
A student in Tokyo and one in Toronto both ask for nine o’clock, and they mean different hours.
Conversation practice works weekly, and weekly is the first thing a busy student lets slip.
Platforms take a large cut of every lesson and keep the student’s details for themselves.
What’s different for language teachers
Hours in the student’s own time zone
Your page shows openings in the time zone your student is in, and the confirmation names the zone it means.
Ten lessons, paid once
Sell a block of lessons paid in advance, and each one is booked from the student’s own page.
What it doesn’t do for you
There’s no video classroom, no flashcards and no level tests. Lessons happen on whatever video call you already use.
