For test prep tutors
Every student has a test date, and your weeks fill backward from it. Sell lessons as a package that ends after the test, run a bootcamp on set dates before the big sittings, and sell practice papers as files.
The test date decides everything
Students book in the last month, when there’s time for half of what they need.
A package bought in September still has lessons left after the test in December.
The weeks before a sitting are full, and the weeks after are empty.
Questions test prep tutors ask
How far ahead should a student start test prep?
Three to four months for most tests, with one lesson a week and practice between. A bootcamp in the last two weeks works better as a finish than a start.
How should a test prep tutor price lessons?
As a package to the test date, priced a little under the same lessons bought singly, with single lessons for students who need a few.
Should a test prep tutor guarantee a score?
No. Promise the lessons, the practice and the feedback, and say in your agreement that the score is the student’s.

What’s different for test prep tutors
A package that ends after the test
Set the number of lessons and the months they’re good for, so a package bought for a December test is used by January.
Practice papers as files
Sell your practice papers and answer guides as files on your page, bought and downloaded any time, including the months you aren’t teaching.
What it doesn’t do for you
There’s no practice test platform, no score tracking and no question bank. Set papers in the way you do now.
