For

For tutors

The parent pays, the student learns, and exam season fills every evening. Sell lessons a term at a time, let families move them themselves, and sell something for August.

When the parent pays

The person who pays isn’t the person who learns, and the parent wants to know the lesson happened.

Exam season fills every evening, and August is empty.

A missed lesson at four o’clock is an hour you can’t sell to anyone else at four o’clock.

Questions tutors ask

Should a tutor charge for a missed lesson?

Yes, when it’s missed inside the window your agreement sets. Outside it, the family moves the lesson themselves and the hour goes back on your page.

How much should a tutor charge?

More for exam years than for regular help, and more for subjects fewer people can teach. Work out the hourly figure you need to take home, then check what the families you want already pay.

Should a tutor sell lessons by the term?

Yes, paid in advance. Families plan in terms, and your income can too.

Who should book tutoring lessons, the parent or the student?

Whoever pays. The parent books, accepts the agreement and gets the confirmation.

Can a tutor teach small groups?

Yes, with seats: the first booking sets the time and the rest join it. Price each seat below a one-to-one lesson and the hour above it.

How does a tutor fill the quiet months?

Sell something that isn’t an hour: a revision guide as a file, or a summer course on set dates. Both sit on the same page as your lessons.

What’s different for tutors

A term at a time

Sell a term of lessons as a package with a window, and each lesson is booked from the family’s own page.

Moves without the messages

Outside your cancellation window, a family moves a lesson from their own page, and the freed hour goes back on yours.

What it doesn’t do for you

There’s no whiteboard, no homework tracking and no progress reports. Lessons happen on the video link or at the address on the booking.
