For leadership coaches
Your client is the manager, the invoice goes to their employer, and the work is the conversation they can’t have with anyone at the office. Sell sessions or a month at a time, and let the company pay for it.
What leadership coaches get asked by HR
Who should a leadership coaching agreement be with, the manager or the company?
Usually both. The company agrees to pay and to the scope, and the manager agrees to how sessions work. Put in writing what the company hears and what it doesn’t before the first session.
How long should a leadership coaching engagement be?
Six months is common, because a change in how somebody leads takes a few review cycles to show. Sell it month by month, so an engagement that ends early ends cleanly.
How do you report progress to the company without breaking confidence?
Agree on the topics at the start and report on those only: attendance, the goals you set together, and whether they’re being met. What’s said in the room stays there.
Should a leadership coach charge more than a life coach?
Usually, because a company is paying and the stakes are a team rather than one person. Price from the role your client holds and what a bad decision in it costs.
What’s different for leadership coaches
The company pays, the manager books
Send the invoice to your client, and they tap Bill someone else to name who pays. The invoice and its reminders go to the company’s accounts address, and the sessions stay with the person you coach.
A month at a time
Monthly coaching holds a set number of sessions that refill at each renewal, and either side can stop it at the end of a paid month.
Your page on the first day
This is the coaching setup, and it’s what your page starts with. Change any of it where it appears.
- Clients can book from tomorrow onward.
- Moving or canceling is free up to 24 hours before.
- There are 30 minutes clear after every session.
- Before booking, your page asks: “What do you want to work on?”
Your coaching agreement opens with this: Sessions are 50 minutes by video. Reschedule or cancel up to 24 hours before at no charge; inside 24 hours the session is charged in full.
What gets in the way
The person in the room is a manager, the person paying is their company, and the agreement has to keep the conversation between the two of you.
A program sold to HR as six months turns into four when the manager gets promoted, and nobody wrote down what happens next.
Your best sessions happen the week of a reorganization, which is the week a calendar thread gets lost.
What it doesn’t do for you
There’s no reporting portal for HR, no 360 survey and no assessment tools. The page books sessions and takes payment; the reports you write go out from your own email.
