For running coaches
A runner wants a plan, a check-in and somebody who notices when the long runs stop. Sell the plan as a monthly file, the group run with a set number of places, and coaching as a month at a time.
A plan every month, a run every week
The plan as a monthly file
A file that renews every month sends the latest plan with each renewal, and it stops when the runner stops paying.
A group run with its meeting point
A group session holds the number of runners you set, at the address on the booking, and comes off your page once it’s full.
Your page on the first day
This is the coaching setup, and it’s what your page starts with. Change any of it where it appears.
- Clients can book from tomorrow onward.
- Moving or canceling is free up to 24 hours before.
- There are 30 minutes clear after every session.
- Before booking, your page asks: “What do you want to work on?”
Your coaching agreement opens with this: Sessions are 50 minutes by video. Reschedule or cancel up to 24 hours before at no charge; inside 24 hours the session is charged in full.
What gets in the way
Training plans go out as spreadsheets by email, and a runner who stops paying keeps getting next month’s.
Group runs fill by text message, and nobody knows who’s coming until the start line.
Race season fills every weekend, and the offseason empties them.
Questions running coaches ask
How should a running coach charge?
Monthly, because training is a block of weeks rather than a single session. A monthly fee with one check-in call is the usual starting point.
Should a running coach offer group runs?
Yes, as a cheaper way in. A runner who joins the Saturday group is the one most likely to want a plan of their own later.
What should a running coach’s agreement say about injury?
That the runner trains at their own risk, tells you about pain early, and checks with a doctor before starting if they have a condition.
What it doesn’t do for you
There’s no training log, no watch sync and no pace charts. Keep those in the running app your athletes already use.
